AE B7 Carbon Fiber Transmission Brace Kit

Engineered to address a common issue arising from the increased size of the motor plate to 5mm, this innovative kit is your solution to excessive flex on the left side of the transmission.

With the motor plate upgrade, the right side of the transmission has become stiff, causing uneven flex when under load. This imbalance leads to gear mesh issues and frequent failures of idler gears, often resulting in damage to bearings and idler shafts. The Team Brood Transmission Brace Kit effectively reduces this flex, minimizing the risk of catastrophic failures.

Crafted from high-quality 1.5mm thick carbon fiber, CNC machined to precise dimensions, the brace offers superior strength and durability while keeping weight to a minimum. Designed by Team Brood Racing’s own EddieO, this kit features a simple yet highly effective design that anchors at the same three points as the motor plate, but on the opposite side of the transmission case.

The use of carbon fiber not only ensures optimal performance but also maintains a sleek and unobtrusive appearance. The kit includes all necessary parts, including three button head M3x20mm screws and three precision-machined 6061 aluminum spacers, making installation quick and hassle-free.

Brace only installs in one direction. The two 2.75mm washers go on the top two holes and the 1.5mm washer goes on the bottom. The Brace should sit level across the 3 holes. Do not over tighten the screws, as this can tweak and potentially warp the transmission case.

Carbon Fiber Transmission Brace Kit installs with no modifications to the car required. Some modified gearing setups require the motor to be up against the transmission. To use the brace in these setups you will need to grind down the brace in that area until proper clearance is achieved. Remember to wear saftey glasses and useThe brace will still function fine. Measure twice and then grind. Remember, you can always grind off more.Take a little off and measure again. Repeat until it fits correctly. Its best to do this off the car, as carbon fiber dust isn’t friendly to moving parts or oil/greased areas.

You may replace the screws with any quality M3x20mm screw. Do not use shorter or longer screws than the 20mm units included with the kit. Longer screws will thread to far into the other side of the case, while shorter screws will not thread far enough to properly tighten the case.
